Christmas Day Nashville Bombing

This past Christmas Day was a bit out of the ordinary for us - to say the least. As my daughter and I were finishing unwrapping our Christmas gifts and I was just about to make breakfast, a call from Berlin, Germany came up on my phone. I ignored it. Then the emails came through. DW news in Berlin was needing a correspondent for coverage on the Christmas Day bombing in Downtown Nashville and were asking if I was interested in going live throughout the day. I explained the situation to my nine-year-old and got right to work. I did live hits at the top of the hour throughout the day on the rapidly updating situation. My daughter understood that that’s just what her dad does - except this morning I was on the screen instead of in the credits.

Summer Weddings

Sharing some photos from a few of this summer's weddings.  I've honestly never seen three couples that love each other as much as Lynea & Jesse, Sage & Beth and Kevin & Betty.  !Y que viva el amor!

Dandelion

Once while strolling through Asheville, NC, a dazed young guy stopped in front  of my wife and I and said "Dandelions are the fairest of all flowers" - then he went back on his way down the sidewalk. Obviously, we were a bit alarmed for this guys sanity and sobriety, but laughed it off. Chalk that one up to Asheville - which is full of dreamers and wanderers. Bless 'em all.

This shot was taken with a Canon 5D mkIII, Canon FD 50mm Macro lens with life-size adapter. f/8 1/30 of a second and ISO 1600. I'm pretty much right on top of this thing as I was snapping away.

Stop and take notice of the little things that make up this world around us.  You'll never know what will enchant you.
